Privacy Policy

Everest Base Camp

This page explains how darkrio Studio handles privacy for the game, the Steam release, local saves, and support contact.

Effective date: June 16, 2026

1. Overview

Everest Base Camp is developed and published by darkrio Studio. The game is designed as a single-player management and expedition simulation. The current game build does not include a darkrio account system, in-game advertising, third-party analytics SDK, or a custom telemetry backend operated by darkrio Studio.

2. Data Stored by the Game

The game stores gameplay data on your device so that it can load progress, settings, and demo completion state. This may include save files, gameplay state, options, local screenshots, and local logs created by the game runtime.

These files are used to operate the game on your device. They are not sold, used for advertising, or uploaded to a darkrio Studio server by the game.

3. Steam and Cloud Saves

If you play Everest Base Camp through Steam, Valve may process account, purchase, platform, and cloud synchronization data under Valve's own policies. Steam Cloud may sync the game's save files through your Steam account when that feature is enabled by Steam.

darkrio Studio uses Steam Auto-Cloud for save synchronization. The game itself only writes save files to the local save directory; Steam handles upload, download, and conflict handling for Steam Cloud.

You can review Valve's privacy information at Steam Privacy Policy.

4. Support Messages

If you contact darkrio Studio for support, feedback, press, or business reasons, we may receive the information you choose to send, such as your name, email address, message content, screenshots, save files, logs, or device details. We use that information to reply, investigate issues, improve the game, and keep necessary records.

5. Sharing and Sale of Data

darkrio Studio does not sell personal information from Everest Base Camp. We do not share game data with advertisers or data brokers. Platform services such as Steam operate under their own terms and privacy policies.

6. Retention and Deletion

Local save files and settings remain on your device until you delete them, uninstall the game, clear the relevant application data directory, or use platform tools that remove them. Steam Cloud copies, if any, are controlled through Steam.

Support messages may be retained for as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain records, resolve issues, and protect the project.

7. Children

Everest Base Camp is not directed to children under 13. darkrio Studio does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the game.

8. Security

We use reasonable care to limit the data handled directly by darkrio Studio. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, so please avoid sending sensitive personal information through support messages unless it is necessary for the issue.

9. Changes

This policy may be updated as the game, platform integrations, or release scope changes. When the policy changes, the effective date on this page will be updated.
